The On Deck Cup is a nationwide hackathon competition designed to unite developers, designers, technologists and anyone else passionate about sports and technology in a series of events aimed at developing innovative new technologies focusedon sports.
The event consists of four regional hackathons to be held in Boston, New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and a final hackathon event to be held as part of the On Deck West Conference in San Francisco on October 22nd, 2013.
Our goal is to pull together hundreds of sports-focused technologists for a series of awesome weekend events focused oncreating new and innovative projects that improve how we follow, analyze and enjoy sports, broadly speaking.

On Deck Cup is open to anyone. To be legally eligible to win a prize, participants must be legal residents, 14 or older, of the 50 United States (including the District of Columbia).

To make it easier for developers to brainstorm ideas and find desired teammates, the On Deck Cup has set up CollabFinder pages to facilitate project ideation and team formation prior to and during On Deck Cup hackathons. Submissions will be judged based on a combination of the following criteria, considered loosely in this rank order:
1. Potential positive impact of project to deepen our ability to understand, analyze or enjoy sports 2. Implementation of the project, including its user experience and design 3. Technical difficulty of project 4. Creativity and originality of project
